The App Icons Might Be the Major Redesign in Samsung’s New One UI 7: Here’s What Rumors Say

| Updated on July 25, 2024

Apple has already ramped up its customization game with the announcement of the public beta for iOS 18, and it seems like Samsung’s new One UI 7 is planning to follow the same route.

With One UI 7 being the biggest update, expectations are very high for it. Users are highly anticipating a possible redesign and visual improvements.

Dynamic theming was a concept that started with Android 12 a few years ago; it created such hype that Google also went with the monochrome icons. Although Samsung’s One UI doesn’t have dynamic theming, rumors say that the new One UI 7 is going to change that.

X Leaker and tipster, @chunvn8888 on X (formerly Twitter) have shared an image of the Samsung Gallery icon with a white background (only available in magenta currently) and round corners.

This shift to white background icons hints at bigger design changes in the recent update, such as a redefined look similar to Apple’s themed icons in iOS 18.

Ice Universe responded to this post with, “Before beta5, icons may still change.” People have speculated that this interaction hints at the confirmation of the possible changes in the redesigned app icons.

There was also an alleged rumor that a vertical app drawer might make a comeback in the recent updates, but we are not sure. These are all rumors, and we would have to wait for months until the official announcement of One UI 7.
