Samsung has long been working on bringing satellite connectivity to Galaxy phones, such as the Galaxy S23 and S24, but the task was easier said than done.
However, after a long wait, experts have found hints about the upcoming satellite support by decoding the strings on Samsung’s Emergency SOS 15.5.00.14 build, Samsung Messages version 15.5.10.39, and Phone version 15.2.80.
Samsung has long been tweaking its apps, which suggests that users can communicate through Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites without a mobile network.
However, the code in the Samsung Messages app indicated that users would have to use Google Messages to use satellite texting, which is valid because Google is the one that is working on the new Android, and Samsung is just operating on top of it.
Thus, it is safe to assume that satellite communication is soon coming to Galaxy Android smartphones.
Although Samsung hasn’t confirmed which Galaxy phones will get the connectivity feature, it is expected to grace the new Android 15.
Thus, we are highly anticipating the upcoming Made by Google event, which is just a few more weeks away. Then, finally, we will receive the answers to when the new feature is coming to Samsung’s stable One UI 7.
So, Samsung users must keep their eyes out for the event and the upcoming announcement in the future!
