Samsung’s XR Headsets Spotted on Geekbench: Here’s Everything We Know So Far!

| Updated on September 3, 2024

A few months ago, it was revealed that Samsung was working on the XR headsets. Now, we have information on the headsets.

A recent listing that appeared on Geekbench mentioned a Samsung device with 16GB of RAM is expected to be the VR headset.

Dubbed “Samsung SM-I130,” the device will leverage a 6-core Android 14 chipset, similar to the popular Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset. The headset also comes with a 4+2 CPU cluster, i.e., a hexa-core processor.

Moreover, the Geekbench listing revealed that the device runs on a base frequency of 2.36 GHz.

The device runs on Android 14, which fits right with the information that Google will supply the operating system, the Android XR platform, to the upcoming headsets.

Considering the product uses the same model number reported previously and features similar hardware to the competing products, it is indeed the Samsung VR headset.

There are also rumors that the headset will be accompanied by a controller, meaning that the device won’t be solely reliant on eye and hand tracking like Apple Vision Pro. Considering the processor the device will use, it will be the perfect choice to support the latest VR games.

Although there is not much information about the upcoming headsets, one thing is sure: Samsung has plans to reveal the device and its specifications soon. So, stay tuned to learn more updates about the Samsung XR headsets.
