Although there have been countless rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2, one recent claim by an individual has somewhat confirmed these rumors.
The latest claim about the Nintendo successor has come from Ruben Mercado, the CEO of video game accessory manufacturer Blade.
In a recent podcast with the Spanish website, Vandalm Mercado said that the hardware is all done and ready.
The executive also added to his statement, saying that the Blade has already access to the near-final versions of the hardware. He believes Nintendo will launch the new hardware to the world in March or April next year.
It is said that the launch of the new switch might depend on its finances for the current year, claiming that it might launch the hardware in March if the sales are below expectations. However, if the sales are positive, they might launch it at the beginning of the new financial year in April 2025.
Mercado also put an end to some flying rumors about the Switch 2. He addressed the magnetic Joy-Con controllers and said the device would have a “locking system” to keep them attached to the system.
He also revealed that the current lines of analog stick covers won’t be compatible with Switch 2, as its stick is different.
Apart from that, Nintendo has already hinted that the next console will be backward compatible, which is also confirmed by other rumors.
It is expected that Nintendo will announce the official Switch successor this fiscal year, which ends in March 2025.
This is all we know about the Nintendo Switch 2 release. However, as all this information is still considered a rumor, take it with a grain of salt.
So, until then, stay tuned!
