After a long wait, Oura has finally announced Oura Ring 4 with improved accuracy in Smart Sensing to adapt to the user’s fingers and find the most reliable signal to improve tracking accuracy.

It is said that the Gen4 ring is more comfortable and smarter, as it can detect patterns in your fingers and track vitals. This Smart Sensing is powered by an algorithm that works with research-grade sensors to deliver accurate data.

The Ring 4 reacts to an individual’s physiology, including the wearer’s finger features, like skin tone, BMI, and age.

The ring features various sensors, like the red and infrared LEDs that measure blood and oxygen levels during sleep, the green and infrared LEDs that measure heart rate, and a temperature sensor and an accelerometer for movement tracking.

The company claims that it features up to eight days of battery life. The new Smart Sensing algorithm and sensor combo utilize variable LED brightness instead of one, which increases battery life.

However, Oura has no plans to drop the subscription. It can’t be blamed on the company, as they are constantly coming up with new updates and features.

If you consider the ring’s actual price on top of the subscription charges that stand at $5.99/month, the offer doesn’t sound so bad.

The new ring is also bringing updates to stress and activity features, which is something we have been waiting for so far. It combines all the ring readings into smaller tabs, making it available in a unified app.

The Oura Ring 4 is currently available for pre-order at Ouraring.com and will be released on October 15. The ring is available in various color options, including silver, black, brushed silver, stealth, gold, and rose gold.

The price for the rings starts at $349 but increases depending on the color options.
