Finally, the DJI’s long-anticipated Air 3S has been formally announced, with all the breathtaking features revealed and a statement claiming that it has a better image than the flagship Mavic 3 Pro.
The big change in the new flagship is a new 1-inch image sensor for the main 24mm EFL camera. However, as it has a dual camera, the users can switch to 70mm EFL while in flight.
The main camera features a 50MP sensor and is f/1.8 with a 0.5m close focus point, while the ‘medium tele’ remains 48MP and offers f/2.8 and a 3m close focus point. Both the cameras have the same modes and are autofocus, allowing users to capture video in up to 10-bit at 60fps as well as 4K 120FPS.
Air 3S also offers a smarter “Active Track 360” and subject-focusing technology that keeps any subject in a frame within a 25m range. It is also equipped with a new forward-facing LiDAR that allows the system to work in low light.
It comes with a 45-minute battery life and delivers a live view of 1080P 60fps to the remote controller
In the official announcement, DJI revealed that the drone has 14-stops of range and a 1-inch-CMOS. It also included a statement, “The Air 3S’s dual cameras improve on the 10-bit and ISO image quality, capturing photos and videos with even more breathtaking details than the current DJI Mavic 3 Pro.”
The drone also offers “off-state” file transfer and has 42GB of built-in memory, which might not even require a MicroSD card slot. The ISO in the drone has also increased to 12,800 maximum, making it more light-friendly than its predecessor.
The DJI Air 3S is available to purchase on DJI.com and other sellers with the RC-N3 controller at $1099
