On Monday, the PC and print giant HP revealed that it is set to release a 14-inch OmniBook Ultra laptop, which will become the “world’s highest-performance AI PC.”
HP is in partnership with AMD and will use AMD’s new Ryzen AI 300 series processors with Radeon 800M graphics that are said to deliver up to 55 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI performance.
HP claims that this integration will enable the PC to run AI processes faster and support a range of new features, such as faster AI image generation, improved camera effects, and quality in video calls.
According to HP, the NPU performance of this new PC is 45 percent higher than Apple’s M4 system-on-chip and two times more than the company’s M3 chip.
HP has also expanded its PC abilities and created its own AI companion app, which includes a Wolf Security system, an improved Smart Sense performance optimization tool, support for Windows Studio Effects, Poly Camera Pro, and more.
The Ultra 14 has a very similar look to the Omnibook X and has the same 14-inch display with a 2240 x 1400 resolution. It has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A slot, a 3.5mm audio jack, a 68 Wh battery, weighs 3.5 pounds, and is 0.65 inches thick.
HP has also revealed that the PC will get a free update that will unlock Windows 11’s AI features and make the Omnibook Ultra 14 an official Copilot+ PC.
The HP Omnibook Ultra 14 is expected to go on sale in August, starting at $1,450.
