Along with the Google Pixel Watch 3 that was launched earlier, Google also released a revamped Weather Tile for watch faces that can fit more meteorological information. The update is now coming to the older Wear OS devices, along with the new ones.
Originally, the Forecast Tile only showed the location, name, current temperature, high/low, and condition. However, now, it has been replaced by a 3 (on the 41 mm) or 4-hour (45 mm) forecast that eliminates the need for opening the full app.
Initially, this update was only available on the Pixel Watch 3, but an update in version 1.9.269.x via Android Authority to the Weather app has made it accessible to all Wear OS devices.
Although we are not sure of the reason for this update, you will see this update on your devices if it hasn’t shown up yet. This tile would appear on the smartwatches running at least Wear OS 3.
The significant change in the update is the addition of a mini-hourly forecast located below the main information that shows the forecast for the next three to four hours.
Another big change in the new smartwatch is a more comprehensive Exercise Tile linked to the Fitbit app, though we have yet to see it on the Wear OS devices.
Along with that, the main Google Weather app has been updated for the Pixel 9 phones. However, the update has not been made available for other handsets yet.
