Google Mocks Apples RCS Update Fail for iMessages

The feud between Google and Apple continues, as in the latest report Google has once again mocked Apple for its failed attempt at perfecting the RCS messaging on the iPhone. This new shaming video comes after the recent release of Apple’s new iPhone 16 Pro and updated iOS 18 software.

In the video released, the Pixel smartphone says that the iPhone has finally made a breakthrough by updating it to RCS. And now both the tech giants are on the same page, which means sending messages across both the devices will be much smoother.

Take a look at the video here:

It is important to note that for a long time, iMessages was stuck to using the same old SMS/MMS method to send messages from one iPhone to another. While when Android users sent any text to an iPhone user, it was difficult with many questions regarding the strict cross-platform restrictions by Apple.

Stepping down from its high pedestal, Apple finally updated to RCS, allowing WhatsApp integration and promoting its cross-platform adaptability. This again came under the Google scanner when the recent iOS 18 software update lacked Apple Intelligence and RCS with full encryption.

With the latest video, Google is really hoping that Apple realizes the importance of collaboration rather than always being exclusive. After all, international users need more options to send clear texts across different devices and software. While these two tech giants try to come together ‘on the same page’ with messages, high security and preserving customers’ data should also be given importance.
