As the gaming industry heads towards the digital space, GameStop refuses to leave behind the old classics and plans to go old-school.
On Wednesday, the video game retail company announced that it is turning some of its stores into “GameStop Retro” locations, which will solely focus on selling older consoles and games for old-school players.
In the post, the company listed various consoles, like Wii and Xbox 360, and said that those locations will sell older games from a variety of franchises, including Pokemon, Mario Kart, Halo, and Grand Theft Auto.
The company either plans to revamp the existing game stores or perhaps a segment of the locations. There is not much information about which store will be included, except for a post on X announcing the launch.
There is also no information on whether this change is permanent or limited to a specific period.
Reports are saying that the company has implemented a retro store locator on its website to help customers find the locations. Users can click “Find A Retro Store” and enter their ZIP code to find the stores within their radius.
