On Wednesday, the French luxury loudspeaker brand Focal announced its first-ever pair of wireless active loudspeakers, the Diva Utopia. These speakers have been in development for five years.

It combines hi-fi sound with Focal’s unique Gallic styling and innovative electronics from Naim. Diva Utopia is a three-way, bass-reflex design loudspeaker that doesn’t require any wire to connect the speakers.

With the unique Ultra-Wideband Technology developed in conjunction with Naim, the speakers can play music at a level exceeding CD quality. Moreover, these speakers can be controlled using a dedicated smartphone app, a remote control, or a voice assistant.

For streaming music, it offers Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Google Cast, and UPnP protocols and a vast range of streaming platforms, such as Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, and QQ Music from China.

Diva Utopia can also work with other audio sources, like a vinyl turntable or a CD player.

The speakers’ drivers have W-shaped cones for offering precise sound and beryllium M-profile tweeters for high-frequency production and accuracy. It also features a 400W of Class AB-powered amplification and a new streaming build that can support 348kHz / 32-bit audio.

Talking about the visual aspects, the speakers have a refined look with the bass drivers on the sides of the cabinets. The floating panels are located behind the signature divide that boasts a backlit logo for a sophisticated look.

Focal Utopia design cues are located at the heart of the speaker, where you can see the red and black Yin and Yang motif. More than that, the material used for the side panels causes minimal environmental impact.
