Apples iPad like Smart Home Display Rumors

Reports say Apple is preparing to launch a new smart home display next year to enhance home automation. The upcoming smart home display marks the company’s commitment to and renewed focus on home automation.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who writes in his Power On newsletter, the new device will run on a new operating system called homeOS, based on Apple TV’s tvOS.

Gurman says that the system will allow the display to run various Apple apps like Calendar, Notes, and Home. The device is also expected to support Apple Intelligence, which was previously absent from the HomePod lineup.

The company has already tested the prototypes with magnets for wall-mounting to improve their versatility within home environments. It is anticipated that the design of the device will be square-shaped, allowing for easier integration into various spaces.

Rumors of these devices have been going around for a long time, ranging from a HomePod with a screen to a display attached to a robotic arm. However, it seems that the day these rumors become a reality isn’t so far.

According to 9to5Mac, another recent rumor suggests that a device called “HomeAccessory” is coming soon and will feature an A18 chip and a built-in camera for FaceTime and will allow users to use hand gestures from a distance to control the device.

MacRumors has also discovered some backend code that references the device and homeOS, which further confirms the rumor to some extent.

Many analysts think that this display is rather a better idea than Apple’s robotic screen idea, as it would be comparably less challenging and hopefully less expensive than trying to use the iPad as a smart home controller.

Although the exact dates are not revealed yet, the launch doesn’t seem so far.
