A recent report from Bloomberg has revealed that Apple is preparing for an updated iPhone SE 4 model, serving as a new low-end model, an upgraded iPad Air model, and revamped keyboards for release.

iPhone SE 4 updates

According to the reports from people familiar with the projects, the company is nearing the production of an updated iPhone SE, codenamed V59. This will mark the first update to the iPhone SE since 2022.

The latest model will abandon the old home button design and have an edge-to-edge screen. The SE 4 model will resemble the iPhone 14, including the notch cutout at the top.

It is also expected to support Apple Intelligence, which is currently only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 series, meaning they will need new processors to support that.

These SE changes will help the tech giant compete in the low-end smartphone market with industry leaders Samsung, Xiaomi, and Huawei. The modern look of the SE might help the phone resemble its high-end siblings and win back market share.

When Bloomberg asked the spokesperson for Cupertino, California-based Apple for comments, they declined the offer.

iPad Air

iPad Air updates

The new iPad Air models are codenamed J607 and J637 and will primarily focus on internal improvements. Whereas the updated version of its Magic Keyboard accessory is codenamed R307 and R308, for both the 11-inch and 13-inch versions of the new Air

Additionally, a new iPad Mini codenamed J410 is expected to be released by the end of 2024. Along with that, the company is also refreshing its Mac computer lineup, including a revamped Mac mini and updated MacBook Pros and iMacs.

They will have the M4 processor and will feature Apple Intelligence features. However, the M4 chip will be available on MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro in 2025.
