In September, Apple’s mega launch event revealed the iPhone 16 series, Apple Watch Series 10, and AirPods 4. Now, the tech giant is ready for its second fall launch event to release M4-chip models of its MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac allegedly later this month.
Mark Gurman, the credible tipster in his Power On newsletter, has given a more specific timeline, saying that the event might be held by the end of October, supposedly as late as Halloween, ahead of a retail release on November 1st.
According to him, the tech giant will reportedly launch the three major models of the MacBook Pro alongside a new Mac Mini, an iMac, and a new iPad Mini in October (codenamed J614 and J616).
Gurman writes that the MacBook Pro models will include a 14-inch variant powering the low-end M4 Apple Silicon chipset code-named J604) and 14-inch and 16-inch variants running the M4 Pro or M4 Max chipsets.
At the event, Apple is also expected to launch the revamped Mac mini with M4 or M4 Pro chips (J773), a refreshed iMac with an M4 chip (J623), and an improved iPad mini (J410).
In the first half of 2025, Apple will supposedly unveil 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models with M4 (J613 and J615) chipsets, updated 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models (J607 and J637), new Magic Keyboards for the updated iPad Air line (R307 and R308), and an upgraded AirTag item finder accessory (B589).
Alongside that, the iPhone SE model codenamed V59 is also expected to be released in Q1 2025.
The company is said to rely heavily on generative AI on the new MacBooks. The two generative AI features, a writing tool, and improved Siri, are already being tested and will be found in macOS Sequoia when it is released
